Our Mission
Taking care of skin during cancer

La Roche-Posay’s mission is to improve the quality of life of people living with sensitive or weakened skin due to cancer. Guided by a team of the world’s greatest dermatology and oncology experts, La Roche-Posay also commits to listening to the skin needs of patients and to driving scientific research while developing knowledge and sharing it with health professionals. Furthermore, La Roche-Posay actively supports programs that fight cancer, including skin cancer, and that raise awareness about the disease.

How to take care of your skin during cancer treatments

During their cancer treatments, more than 80% of patients develop unpleasant skin side effects, which include increased dryness, radiodermatitis (lesions caused by radiation therapy), hand-foot syndrome (an inflammatory affliction that weakens blood vessels in the extremities) and folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles).

Although irritating, these cutaneous side effects are temporary. What’s more, using suitable dermocosmetic products is an effective solution for soothing the skin of people undergoing oncology treatments.

Perfect your routine by opting for face cleansers and makeup removers that respect the skin’s pH, as well as creams and balms, sun protection and hypoallergenic makeup products that have been clinically tested under dermatological control and that are suitable for sensitive skin.

These products will be your best friends from the first signs of skin side effects. If you have any doubts whatsoever, feel free to contact your pharmacist, care team or dermatologist.

Your adapted care routine

Thanks to its scientifically proven effects, this three-step care routine minimizes cutaneous side effects linked to cancer treatments.

Answers to your questions

Your cancer treatments have begun or are about to. Over the past few years, advancements in medicine have considerably improved the prognosis of people living with cancer. That said, more than 80% of them will develop cutaneous side effects caused by certain cancer treatments. Moreover, almost half of these patients will suffer from skin reactions of varying severity following radiation therapy. Luckily, these skin problems are largely temporary, and using a combination of suitable dermocosmetic products is an effective solution for soothing skin weakened by oncology treatments.

*In case of any doubt, seek the advice of your pharmacist, your health care team or a dermatologist.
