Gaming For Cause (GFC) is La Roche-Posay’s global charity initiative, organized in partnership with Ninja, bringing together gaming communities worldwide to raise awareness and funds in support of skin cancer prevention and detection, and supportive cancer care.
The event centres around a 24-hour livestream that unites gamers, streamers, creators, and medical experts from around the world. Through gameplay, live interaction, and community engagement, audiences can donate, participate, and learn, all while supporting an important cause.
GAMING FOR CAUSE: Shield Your Skin. Fuel The Cancer Fight." is the biggest co-op mission ever launched. For 24 hours (3:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EDT), Ninja and creators across the world rally around a single cause: Cancer.
TWO FIGHTS, ONE CAUSE
SAVE YOUR SKIN
Sun protection is the first line of defence. Over 80% of cutaneous melanoma cases worldwide are linked to UV exposure*. Yet 88% of people still don't consistently protect themselves**. With decades of expertise in photoprotection, La Roche-Posay funds free mole check events, school programmes teaching sun-safe habits, and SkinVision, an AI-powered app backed by dermatologists that helps people assess moles for signs of skin cancer.

FIGHT WITH CARE
+80% of cancer patients undergoing treatment experience skin side effect.
Skin side effects from cancer treatment are common yet rarely talked about. More than 80% of patients undergoing treatment experience them***. Up to 50% suspend treatment because of them****. Fight With Care exists to close that gap.

All donations go directly to the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC): The largest and oldest international cancer organization. Founded in 1933, UICC has over 1,100 member organizations in 170 countries and territories. UICC's mission is to both unite and support the cancer community in its efforts to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity and ensure that cancer control remains a priority on the global health and development agenda.

No, 2026 is the second edition. The first, in 2025, raised $230,000 USD for skin cancer prevention and detection worldwide.
Oncology has been part of the brand's work for almost 25 years, from sun protection research to dermocosmetics designed for people undergoing cancer treatment. Gaming For Cause extends that commitment into a new audience.
Gaming reaches a young, global, highly engaged audience that isn't always reached by traditional health campaigns. Streamers like Ninja can put skin cancer prevention, early detection and supportive care in front of millions of people who might not otherwise encounter it.
None directly: the format is the bridge, not the subject. Skin cancer makes up around 8% of the 20 million+ cancer cases diagnosed worldwide each year1, and cases are projected to grow by 40% by 20502. Prevention (like daily sun protection, sunscreen use and regular skin checks) is something young audiences can act on immediately.

Because the side effects of cancer treatment are common and often underdiscussed. Over 80% of people undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or immunotherapy develop skin side effects like dryness, burning, and rashes3, severe enough that half of patients affected suspend treatment because of them (depending on the type of treatment and severity of the side effects)4. Gaming For Cause 2026 adds supportive care to its focus to help raise awareness and funds for this important issue, alongside prevention and early detection of skin cancer.

A mix of things, including financial and product donations to NGOs, free mole-check events, training on supportive care through channels such as the cancer-support.com online platform, a dermatologist-staffed Thermal Center in France that's treated 26,000+ people since 2007, an 18-product oncology skincare range tested on patients undergoing treatment, and training for 19,500+ oncologists and healthcare professionals worldwide.
