The differences between BB Cream and CC Cream is slight, but they still give different results to your makeup. BB, which stands for Beauty Balm, is often associated as a tinted moisturizer. They were first developed to give coverage to your skin while providing daily hydration and protection.

They are essentially a skin moisturizer with a slight skin tint! You can even apply tinted moisturizer with your fingers without it streaking. BB creams with SPF are also common, so you can get your daily moisturizer, skin tint, and SPF in one product. This makes it perfect to apply on the go, or before you run out the door. The best BB cream, or the best tinted moisturizer, usually have moisturizing properties as well as SPF. If you have sensitive or acne prone skin, look for a non comedogenic BB cream, since they are less likely to clog pores.

On the other hand, CC, or Colour Control, focuses on evening skin tone. They usually do not have as much coverage as BB cream, but they help even out redness and brightens up the skin. The best CC cream should have ingredients that dermatologically correct skin tone flaws.

1. With clean fingertips, take the amount of BB cream or CC cream that you want and dot it on key points of your face.
2. Blend by using your fingertips to massage the product into your skin. BB cream or CC cream works best if you apply it with fingertips or a brush, since sponges absorb too much product.
3. If you want more coverage, BB cream and CC cream can be applied in layers without streaking, so don’t be afraid to build your coverage up!
4. Be sure to use a cleanser and/or a makeup remover at the end of the day to remove any residue.
